Fantastic Model Fantastic Sound

Great model of my favourite class of British diesel locomotive. Just a shame about the little niggles. Must contact product support for at least one completely missing part.

50149

This is an exceptional model of the Class 50149. Yes we all know the issue with the orange connection that comes off in transit. Sure Accurascale will find a fix for run2. And yes you can see the circuit board through the cab. Another area for run 2. Runs very smoothly and sounds Awesome.

Good but room for improvement

While overall a really nice model, I do think there are a few areas of improvement. Some model specific, some general Accurascale feedback:

> Packaging - Minor model box damage but nothing on the model itself damaged. Accurascale used a huge box which is part of the problem. A big box looks like a lot of protection but means you have to have lots of internal packing that the model can work its way around. Using smaller boxes that don't let the model move as much strikes a better balance between padding and having a model flying about in an impact. Smaller boxes are also cheaper to ship and better for the environment (all be it not by much per box but adds up over the volume Accuracsale ship).

> Unpainted parts - Multiple working connectors on the cab front have not been painted and are simply in orange plastic (they are painted in the product pictures). This would be OK except for the fact that other parts on the model have been painted orange making it stand out.

> Visible PCBs - The model's PCB is visible through the fan, cab windows and exhaust ports. Given we have working fans, cab and gauge light, we are encouraged to look into these areas so a bit disappointing. Other models have been heavily criticised for visible PCBs in the past so feel it should at least be talked about.

> Body removal - The chains attached to the loco body are next to impossible to remove without breaking them. This is especially frustrating since I discovered this trying to remove the body to mask the PCB issue, as mentioned above, with coloured tape or card to make it less eye catching. We've been through bogie mounted chain issues on multiple models now so feel something better is needed going forward.

Slightly disappointed by the PCBs but nothing major across the board. Hopefully all stuff that can be fixed in run 2.
