I must say at first look these are brilliant but they don’t like shape curves unless it’s my trackwork to but i doubt it apart from that looks spot on 5 star

These new Siphons must surely be the best non-passenger rolling stock available in oo gauge. Together with the diagram variety on offer the level of body and underframe detail is staggering. Well done Accurascale!

This is an absolutely spectacular model. The fit and finish is at a level that I've not seen before. The different versions just adds to beauty. I have both GWR versions and they have different features on the underframes. Highly recommended!

Superb detailing and build quality.

Difficult to review this model without using hyperbole. If I take a step back I realise that my breath is being taken away by a model of a van! Like many of us I suspect I'm a model railway locomotive enthusiast and rolling stock is 'the stuff that goes behind the loco'. That said I appreciate quality and variety and up until now I would say the benchmark in RTR bogie rolling stock have been the recent Bachmann LMS, LNER and SR coaches. The Siphon raises that bar. From the enticing and stout packaging, the presentation of the 'ice cube' in its foam packed bedding and the comprehensive prototype notes the whole thing exudes the care and pride that AS clearly have in their models. You get the sense that you are taking possession of something that is bespoke and handmade which of course in the modern sense of the term you are. This might not have been hand built in brass but the skill is in turning the detail of the prototype into something tangible via keen attention to detail, historical research and finally making the model from the advanced use of modern materials. The attention to detail is astonishing and the model is utterly convincing. It doesn’t look like plastic - it looks like metal and wood. The model has a good weight and the wheels sit in metal bearings (a first for 4mm rtr?). The bogies themselves and the chassis are a work of wonder in themselves, they are built out of separate components rather than moulded in one piece and this gives the chassis convincing depth. The model runs freely. Although Tension Locks and alternative magnetic couplings are supplied I've fitted my standard Kadees. Still experimenting with how close I can couple without issues and so far have found No18s perfectly reliable for both pulled and pushed moves over my tightest curves (30 inch radii Peco points). I suspect No 17 will also work.

Accurate, well made and reasonably easy to convert to P4.
All I can say is that whilst building wagon kits is a great part of the hobby for me, items like this reduce that which need building. A wonderful beastie...

As per the other Siphon I have from Accurascale another outstanding model, I will change the couplings for the shorter version. On opening the box for this model I noticed the corridor connection was hanging off but a little spot of glue corrected this. The only other problem is a missing buffer!!, I did contact Accurascale on Bank Holiday Monday and got a response (very impressive) and by Wednesday I was advised a buffer would be sent shortly, as of today hasn't arrived but then neither has the post. An outstanding model and I'm really looking forward to the MRK 1 suburbans.

Bought after struggles with other chips. This is excellently formatted, does everything as claimed. Brilliant control of pantos, lights etc. Well done.

The model is highly detailed and has a good weight to it compared to other vehicles of a similar size.
