We are delighted to team up with our Danish friends at Heljan to bring you a run of the former BR Oil tankers bought by CIE in the late 1960s and modified for Irish operations. Synonymous on the "Sligo Oil" trains, these B Class tank wagons were modified with additional bracing between the tank barrel and chassis which we have tooled up to make these authentic for the Irish variants of these distinct wagons.

  • Highly detailed model constructed from plastic and metal
  • 40g Weight per Wagon
  • RP25.110 chemically blackened OO gauge wheel sets
  • Blackened wheels conforming to Irish Railway Models standard of 14.4mm back-to-back on 2mm axles
  • Turned sprung metal buffers
  • NEM standard coupler pockets
  • Narrow tension lock couplers included
  • Individual lettering and codes from real wagons for authenticity

CIE Esso tank wagons , packs 1 & 2.

Morning.
Where to start .? , the packaging was poor , 2 boxes in a bigger box with nothing to stop them sliding about during transit , lid on one of the boxes was partly off and wagons out of the foam and in a heap at one end inside their box. , thankfully nothing damaged or broken . The running was terrible , a gentle push with a finger and after about a metre came to a stand , the noise was terrible , squeaking , groaning etc when being pulled by a loco so a drip of plastic friendly oil applied to each axle box was required to cure this and promote free running , the wagons are nice and nice things to have but the quality all round was very poor by your standards , perhaps some bearings should have been used as in your recently purchased OOVs , sorry for being negative.
Regards Graham Stephenson.
