Den 16 ton stora mineralvagnen, som i hög grad betraktas som "den saknade länken" i "Powering Britain"-serien, är ett viktigt tillskott till Accurascale-serien för att berätta historien om koltrafiken på järnvägarna under 1900-talet.   • Model Specification:
  • Die-cast metal chassis with plastic body. Weight of 37g (excluding coal load).
  • Scale length of 78mm over buffers, and 34.53mm wide.
  • Wheelbase of 36mm, allowing operation over a minimum radius of 371mm (1st radius set-track).
  • Separately fitted side doors, top doors and end doors.
  • Metal 3-hole wheels; chemically blackened 00 Gauge RP25-110 standard, set in blackened brass bearings and conforming to Accurascale standards of 14.4mm back-to-back, on 2mm axles over 26mm pinpoints.
  • Eroded metal, plastic and wire detail parts, including handrails, grab handles, side-door handles, lamp brackets, brake gear, draw gear, 3-link and Instanter couplings.
  • Turned metal sprung buffers.

5 stars - going to have to up my game

Examined wagons in detail - the chassis is well in advance of my kit built 16 tonners - I am going to have to try a lot harder to equal the detail quality offered in these sets.... and this quality is also repeated across the other 4 packs that I bought

I love the internal detail of the pressed steel end doors, the works plate and end door handles. Quite superb as are the fabricated end doors of Pack A.

16 Ton Mineral Wagon Pack F

Excellent product for this staple of the BR era of modelling. Easy to convert to P4, lightly sprung buffers, choice of couplings all supplied in the pack.

What a leap forward! When I was a lad the Hornby or Airfix 16t was all there was. This really shows how the hobby has moved forward with the aid of companies like Accurascale

16T of wagon goodness

At £25 per wagon - and less than that if you buy more than one pack - these are a steal. The detail is excellent, right down to the sprung buffers. They're reassuringly weighty without being too heavy and they roll very nicely showing no sign of wobble. Really great.
