Nr 31105 var den tredje av Network Rails klass 31:or som återvände till trafik och det enda tidigare skivhuvudkodsmonterade loket i flottan, även om det ofta kunde hittas i partnerskap med Howard Johnstons anlitade i Fragonset, senare BR blå-liveried, "skinhead" nr 31106 på testtåg. Den tidigare D5523, ny i Stratford i mars 1959 och drogs tillbaka från Bescot i maj 1997, valdes 2002 för återfödelse i NR:s QADD pool tillsammans med nr 31107.

Medan den sistnämnda föll i vägen, släpptes nr 31105 från Derby i gult i augusti 2004, utvändigt nästan oförändrat från dess tidigare skick, och behöll till och med det extra lampjärnet på sina pläterade nosdörrar. Men under andra halvåret 2005 hade Derby tagit tillfället i akt att ta bort hytttaksventilkåpan från hytttak nr 1 för att matcha änden nr 2 som hade byggts om i början av 1984.

I slutet av 2007 modifierades frontändarna ytterligare med samma LED-bakljus och de modifieringar som beskrivs ovan med nr 31285.Alla bra saker tar dock ett slut och nr 31105 drogs tillbaka för andra gången i februari 2015, vilket gör att bara nr 31233 fortfarande är aktiv för NR.

Fortfarande i fungerande skick, användes den ibland som en shunter på RTC-platsen innan den såldes för konservering på Mangapps Railway i Essex i oktober 2018.

  • Fully sprung buffers, multiple pipework variations and screw couplings
  • Kinetic NEM coupler mounts at correct height with mini-tension-lock couplers

High Performance traction features;

  • High quality 5-pole motor with two large flywheels
  • Helical Gear box for maximum performance and slow speed running
  • Gearing arranged so locomotive can achieve a scale top speed of 90 mph (145 km/h)
  • Outer axles on bogies are driven (sprung dummy centre axle) and all wheel pickup

Deluxe Features

  • All models feature a fully working, scale speed roof fan, that will run on DC and DCC., On DCC control, the fan speed is fully programmed to simulate accurate motion
  • All models feature  PowerPack supercapacitor Stay-Alive system for uninterrupted power and flicker free lighting and uninterruptible sound (works on DCC)

  • DCC ready [21-Pin MTX Socket]
  • Factory-Installed DCC Sound available with ESU LokSound V5 fitted with large speaker and sugarcube style speaker, with large sound capsules for best possible sound (DCC Sound models only)
  • Wheel flange squeal sensor on DCC sound fitted locomotives for automatic flange squeal on sound programme

Fully detailed Lighting Pack features:

  • Directional lighting, DC and DCC
  • Lighting clusters with appropriate day and night-time settings
  • Switchable Red and white marker lights (red can be switched individual lights or both on)
  • Separately switched cab lighting and illuminated, driver’s desk with auto/off on movement

The Amazing Class 31

What can I say but it just amazing engine. I only needed 1 class 31 but I brought this one too. The detail is stunning . Keep them coming .

Brilliant model

Delighted with my second Class 31 purchase of the DCC ready 31105 which contrasts well with 31285 which I pre-ordered. Runs very smoothly and quietly and working fan is a great feature

Unabashed levels of fidelity.

Fabulous locomotive, bang on the money in terms of looks. Performance so far has been outstanding. It looks so good that the stock I have to run with it looks too toylike in comparison! Need some Accurascale network rail stock now!

Another stunning loco. my 2nd class 31 and they are stunning. sound file on the other one is excellent as well. Runs beautiful to boot as well.

I was very lucky to get 31105 after Accurascale announced a few were still in stock..after receiving it I reviewed on YouTube on my channel Harold Road..i was lost for words..during my filming review...the issue now is do I weather it ot leave it pristine?? Thank you Accurascale 😊

Yet another outstanding model

I think I am starting to run out of superlatives when it comes to describing the models from Accurascale. This model of 31105 in Network Rail Yellow livery is superb in every detail. straight out of the box it ran smoothly and without hesitation over PECO Code 75 points. Once again I am hugely impressed with the quality the team at Accurascale achieve. Many thanks!
