37414 Järnvägsfraktkonstruktion

Introduktionen av Class 156 'Super Sprinters' på West Highland från januari 1989 och på Far North/Kyle-linjerna i maj utlöste en exodus av Class 37/4s till fraktarbete. I slutet av det året hade Laira, Motherwell och Tinsley fått tilldelningar, medan Immingham och Thornaby båda förvärvade tre lok vardera i mitten av 1990, då halva underklassen var söder om gränsen. En av dessa var nr 37414, som var på porslinstjänst i Cornwall tills den överfördes till North Lincolnshire-depåns FABI-pool den september. Det här loket, som behöll sina lampjärn i Western Region-stil endast i ändan nr 2, hade målats om i Roundel trippelgrå-schemat med distributionsdekaler i augusti 1989, men bytte snabbt ut dessa mot mer lämpliga Construction-märken efter flytten. Detta såg att det mestadels var utanför Buxton i Peak District för att transportera ballast, cement och de ikoniska ICI-kalkstenstågen.Även om det inte var helt allergiskt mot passagerararbete under denna period, flyttade det till Crewe Diesel i november 1992 för att gå med i RCMC Regional Railways North West-poolen, till en början för att arbeta med Liverpool Lime St/Crewe-Cardiff-tåg, fortfarande med sin klassiska Railfreight-bild. I mars 1993 blev det den första medlemmen i flottan att ta emot den nya regionala järnvägen tillsammans med namnet Cathays C&W Works 1846-1993, och blev en ståndare på norra Wales kust och de berömda "klubbtågen" från Liverpool och Manchester Victoria. Den höll på tills den lagrades av EWS i mars 2000 och skrotades på TJ Thomson's of Stockton exakt nio år senare.
