Tre vagnar multipack, NER 4T Chaldron

Specifikationslista:

  • Pressgjuten metallchassi med plastkropp. Vikt 9 g olastad.
  • Fungerar över kurvor med minsta radie (371 mm, 1:a radie inställd spår)

Three wagon multi-pack, NER 4T Chaldron Ex-S.C.C National Coal Board

I first saw these waggons on a school tip to Beamish Museum many, many years ago and wished that there was a model I could buy. Then suddenly there was! Its difficult to say how accurate these are. All the real life examples I have seen have either been very decrepid or a showpiece restoration, but these models do look fantastic. Fore something so small; they run very well and the coupling system is excellent as well.

Perfection

I love them, They are going down the mine, to see the light of day once in a while.

Great Chaldrons!

These are beautifully detailed and they look great and roll great. The magnetic couplers are genius, they look and work great - NO PROBLEMS. I bought six to haul behind an era 1 locomotive. They do dwarf the HO engines and cars but are a match for OO engines and cars from Hornby and they match the size of caldrons coupled with the open passenger and closed coaches in photographs of the replica engines and trains. It is obvious that you take pride in your work.

I hope you can make some era 1 locomotives, coaches and rolling stock.

You should market your couplers because they are the best for era 1.
I will buy two more packs of chaldrons.

Great little wagons.

These wagons (waggons given their age) are perfect for people modelling early railways right up to the late 70s and are a perfect match for some of the smaller steam shunting locomotives available from other manufacturers (like Hornby’s Pecketts) They are highly detailed for such small waggons, with the wooden planks having the relief detail you’d expect to see on much more expensive (and larger) wagons. The wheels have extremely fine flanges and are a perfect model of split spoke examples, being fully visible when the wagons are on the track.
The use of chain couplings, with magnets to make sure the wagons couple together is an inspired choice as the standard tension lock coupling would be almost the same length as the wagons and would spoil the look of these perfect wagons, with two spare chain couplings for use in a locomotive this gives the chance to have one locomotive ready to trundle around with the wagons with very little effort.
The livery application is spot on, each having subtle differences from the colour of the top greedy board (2 being a grey colour and one being black) to the individual painted markings on the wagons.
These are very light in comparison to larger wagons and would not pose a problem for small locomotives to haul a respectable length train even with either a real coal load or some of the resin loads available from Accurascale.
I would definitely buy more of these in other liveries when I was able to afford them

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC, but….

For accuracy, fidelity and historical importance and a leap of faith into the all-important railway development in the era “Before Thomas” these tiny trucks can best be described as magical. The magic extends to the magnetic chain couplings which, at a stroke, remove the mechanical challenges of uncoupling rakes of any other model coupling on cares to name. One as yet unadvertised benefit of these trucks is that they successfully run on curves of OO gauge track radius down to an unbelievable FOUR INCHES. Just one criticism: selling coal for a coal wagon smacks of an unnecessary money-grub, plus the observation that there is no period appropriate locomotive to haul even a short rake of these famous trucks which lasted to the very end of the steam age in the 1960s, seen below being hauled by Britain’s mightiest ever steam locomotive, the Beyer Peacock Garratt 4-8-4-4-8-4 double articulated, double locomotive in New South Wales in the 1960s….

Stunning little set of rolling stock.

This is the second set that I have added to my collection. They are perfect for my up and coming local mining layout. The addition on the new coal loads just finishes them off beautifully. First class job.

Brilliant Wagons

Absolutely delighted with these tiny beasties, currently running behind my Peckett
(un-prototypical but hey! who cares), great job A/S
