Class 66 - DRS Blue - 66122 - DCC Sound Fitted

Exellent loco runs great and sounds fantastic,well packed so no loose bits in the box got nothing negative to say about this loco

This was the first of my class 66s I had preordered to be delivered to me. I don’t know why I was blown away by the sheer quality of detail as I have many other Accurascale models and should be used to their exceptional standards, but I was. This level of detail also includes customer care - a small buffer had broken from the model during transit to me from Accurascale, but there was no issues and it was hassle free to return it back for repair. I was just disappointed I had to return it and I was without it. Top quality and I look forward to my other 66s.

Very good improvement on Hattons model.

An absolutely brilliant locomotive.
The DRS blue looks fantastic. I have an original Hattons 66 in BR blue, large logo, and that is an amazing locomotive in itself, but the Accurascale remake is in another class altogether. A terrific job of making improvements and a few extra touches such as the sensor in the bogie to activate “flange squeal”. In my opinion, this has to be the best innovation in a long time. Which means, are we going to get “curve activated flange squeal” on all subsequent models?
As with its predecessor, the locomotive has plenty of weight, and masses of pulling power. An extremely quiet motor and drive mechanism that (for my model and power supply) has a scale top speed of 71mph as per the prototype.
Only one tiny alteration I am going to make is change the value of CV182 (Brake Function 1 Max Speed. Range 0-126) to zero, so that when F2 is pressed, the braking function will actually slow the locomotive down. Fresh out of the box, CV182 is set to 126, maximum, hence the locomotive under braking function carries on at its current speed.
The only other addition is add a driver and second man / person.
This is going to make my existing 66’s look and sound like the poor relations in comparison! Brilliant job Accurascale.👍

Not only does it look good, it sounds amazing and has some weight behind it. Very much impressed and VERY happy with the shed!

I've only had this Accurascale Class 66 for a few days so I cannot comment as to its longevity. My initial thoughts are positive though.
Excellently boxed with informative paperwork, as we've come to expect with Accurascale's models.
The model is superbly detailed, suitably heavy and a smooth runner. There's no wobble (as plagued the previous Hatton's version) and nothing has fallen off. The sound is excellent and the livery application is great too, This appears to me to be the finest OO gauge Class 66 currently produced by any manufacturer. I really hope it doesn't develop any of the reliability issues that previous Accurascale loco releases have suffered from. Hopefully those were "teething issues" and are now fixed and a thing of the past. So far, so good.
Credit where credit's due; well done Accurascale for setting the standard for model railway products, value and customer service. It bucks the trend of other competing manufacturers and is very much appreciated.

Another fantastic model from Accurascale with excellent sounds! The DRS class 66 is well detailed and upgraded from the earlier Hattons model with previous issues now resolved. I look forward to the other models when they arrive.

I bought this DRS class 66 so I could do a nuclear escort train . So I have also a Hattons clas 66 drs and your KUA nuclear wagons , so now I have to find two mark 2C coaches and convert them into drs escort coaches unless Accurascale does another run of mark 2C in drs colours . Meanwhile this drs class 66 is running very well on my layout .

Have wanted a plain DRS for some time and having missed out on the Hattons version made sure i got this one ordered early .Delited with the loco sounds great and runs smoothly in fact considerint a second of the same livery

It was worth the wait for this loco to arrive in a well packed box. What can I say with this loco which comes with all the bells and whistles. Well done again to Accurascale.
