a fantastic model, with excellent detailing and running characteristics, much better than what they were in real life, awful, smelly, underpowered only 4 powered motors on 6 axles, heavy 107 tons. They didn’t like heavy trains or rising gradients, useless on the MML much better suited to the Fens. Now back to tithe model, the only criticism is, would be nice to have engine room lighting on any future variant's apart from that is top notch.
This model totally captures the shape & character of the prototype .The Blue is just right.Sound great.
This is a great product. I have a limited edition model from 20 years ago of this loco. The Accurascale one is more detailed and runs much better. I have this because it was the loco used at my local pit, where 2 of my great unckes had worked. Really pleased with this new edition to my collection,
Despite the class 31 being my least favourite diesel of the early 80’s, I always loved seeing a skinhead. This model is a beaut.
One of my all time favourite liveries and captured perfectly. The combination of interchangeable front doors included in the accessories pack is yet another superb addition to what is an iconic class 31.
I have a fleet of these superb locos. This Railfreight Red Stripe is another addition and runs smoothly straight out of the box.
Superb model sticks like glue to the track has no problem with hornby's tight 1st radius points not only that but it looks fabulous and the sound is great All in this is a truly magnificent model
The Accurascale ModelU Class 55 'Deltic' Crew - Driver/Secondman - Late BR are absolutely superb and a must-have for any serious Deltic fan.
As soon as you place them in the cab of a British Rail Class 55, the whole locomotive comes alive. It instantly changes the feel from “model on a layout” to “mainline power ready for departure.”
The poses look completely natural — you can almost hear the twin Napier engines idling while the driver focuses on the road ahead and the secondman keeps watch. The detail and paint finish are crisp and realistic, with just the right late BR-era look.
They fit beautifully, sit naturally in the cab, and add that extra layer of authenticity that really makes people stop and look twice.
It’s amazing how such a small addition can make such a big difference. If you’re running a Late BR Deltic, these figures are the perfect finishing touch.
Five stars without hesitation. 🚂👏
The Accurascale ModelU Class 66 Crew - Driver/Secondman - Privatisation are an absolute game-changer for bringing a layout to life.
Sometimes it’s the little touches that make the biggest difference — and adding these crew members instantly transforms the look of a loco. Pop them into the cab of a British Rail Class 66, and suddenly it feels like a real working railway rather than just a model.
The poses are natural and full of character — you can almost imagine the driver checking signals while the secondman keeps an eye on the road ahead. The painting and finish are superb, with crisp detail that really stands out without looking overdone.
They’re also a perfect fit for my new Martin House charity model, adding that extra touch of realism and purpose to what is already a very special locomotive on the layout. It’s details like this that really elevate a project and make it feel complete.
A simple addition that makes a huge difference. Highly recommended for anyone running modern image stock — five stars all the way! 🚂👏
The Accurascale 31407 - Mainline Blue - Exclusive - DCC Sound Fitted is an absolute joy from the moment it rolls onto the track.
The Mainline Blue livery looks fantastic — bold, vibrant and full of character. It really captures the spirit of the classic British Rail Class 31 and stands out beautifully on the layout.
🔊 The Sound
The DCC sound is superb and full of personality. That distinctive engine note instantly takes you back, and the horns sound fantastic. It doesn’t just move — it feels alive.
🚂 On the Track
Smooth, steady and a pleasure to run. Whether pottering around or hauling a train, it performs confidently and reliably every time. It’s one of those locos you keep reaching for during a running session.
This model has real presence and charm. Accurascale have delivered something special here — a true five-star addition to any collection.
Highly recommended! 🚂✨
I purchased the Accurascale Class 60 - DCR - 60055 - DCC Sound Fitted late last year, and after many running sessions on the layout, I can honestly say it remains one of the finest locomotives in my collection.
From day one, the detail blew me away — and it still does. The DCR livery is flawlessly applied with crisp logos, sharp lining and beautifully executed warning labels. It perfectly captures the heavy, purposeful presence of the real British Rail Class 60.
🔊 The Sound – As Impressive As Ever
The factory-fitted DCC sound is superb. The deep engine start-up sequence, compressor bursts, turbo spool and that unmistakable low-speed growl give it real character. Even after countless runs, it still puts a smile on my face every time I power it up.
🚂 Performance Over Time
What really stands out is consistency. Slow-speed control remains silky smooth, ideal for yard work, and it handles long freight rakes with ease. Reliable pickups and steady pulling power mean it’s a locomotive I can trust every session.
🔍 The Detail
• Fine etched grilles
• Intricate underframe pipework
• Individually fitted parts
• Realistic cab interior
• Subtle, convincing finish on this DCR example
Accurascale’s commitment to accuracy and quality really shows — and it’s proven itself over time. A few months on, this isn’t just a great model — it’s a proven performer and a firm favourite on the layout. Accurascale truly raised the bar with 60055.
Highly recommended. 🚂👏
Purchased as i saw this specific loco on the same day and is a perfect example of the loco in miniature. It arrived with a lamp bracket missing but after contacting Accurascale they were very quick to send out the missing piece. I have since fitted a Accurascale/ESU Lockpilot 5 Class 60 DCC chip and it runs beautifully. Superb model and reasonably prices.
Who says I'm influenced by what goes on around me? Well, a chance encounter with this wagon whilst driving through Edale meant that upon the model's announcement I had to have it. Suffice to say it has not disappointed with the expectation that a cat will jump out of the train every time it goes past. Well done.
Hi guys bought two of these from you excellent service unfortunately my latest purchased either my loco has a problem or the decoder excellent service from you always hopefully you can sort my class 66 out thanks guys
Excellent product, just it dropped it in and everything worked perfectly. Does what has to. Excellent
Just received this superb model. The detail and appearance is second to none and the running is incredibly smooth and silent yet another beautiful model to my collection.
