A 55 A class locomotive Black

This is a Very Nice locomotive I would Have Seen This one on a Train That my Dad in 1967 took me to Bray from Tara Street Dublin and the Engine Running around the train for the trip Back to Connolly Station Dublin

A55

I bought three of the A Class, 027, A15 and A55, all three run smoothly, but A55 is the coolest looking of the three.

What a joy.

This is the fifth model I’ve purchased. These models are simply a gigantic leap in Irish Railway Modelling from the days of the models offed by Hornby and Lima and are a courageous attempt by IRM to provide a superior prototypical model of an Irish Diesel.
Well done IRM.
Hopefully a similar model of the C class won’t be too far away.

saw one of these from outside the bookies opposite a-st ,a monster,i was three and a half ;me, ma and da then went out to bray on some real old carriages-right behind the engine--i can still hear it...... would'nt mind some sandboxes..

A55. D. Hopkins.

A truly superb model in every respect (this from someone who has been modelling railways for over 40 years). I bought 3 f them (A55, A46 and A23r). IRM have now set the bar for all the other manufacturers. No hesitation in awarding 10 out of 10.

Capturing the simplicity of the plain black era - 1960s - would have liked a CIE roundell on this one, as on many prototypes, to relieve the black a little. See some period pictures of this locomotive on the Burma road. Still beautifully done. The prototype can still be seen enjoying a pint at a pub in Castlerea!

Excellent quality item.

It's a lovely model, finely detailed and an excellent runner. Very solid feel to it also.
