Accurascale Address the Dawn of Steam Locomotion

At last, the iconic 4-ton chaldron wagon, a contemporary of the opening of the Stockport & Darlington Railway, which survived in hardly any changed form for over a century in countries as far apart as UK and Australia. In OO 4mm scale this tiny wagon is a marvel of incredibly accurate miniature railway model engineering. Rakes of them realistically join together with chains linking together with near invisible pull-apart magnets. These magnet chain couplings allow a rake of chaldrons to take curves as tight as FOUR INCH RADIUS curves hauled by 1830s era locomotive such as Rocket and the Clint de Witt. The only minus is that the cost of a realistic rake of 24 wagons that Locomotion hauled to Darlington would cost over £320. Apart from Lion and its alter-ego, the Titfield Thunderbolt, there are no tiny period locomotives in planning or production despite the fact that Hornby, Bachman and Trix produced them over 50 years ago. ( Rocket, King of Prussia, Saxonia and Clinton de Witt to name the few I have managed to acquire and run on an 8 x 16 inch OO scale oval track!). Come on, you digital designers; 3-D printers are printing and painting extraordinarily detailed tiny Warhammer models in one go twenty at a time….
