Well worth the long wait for the J68. My Liverpool St. pilot 68619 is a little beauty to look at but It is not the best runner which is a shame. I had to send the first one back because of bad running and the replacement is better, but still stutters. The problems seem to lie with the wheels which are coated in blackening which no matter how much I have cleaned them still cause hesitant running. Another thing is the access to the pick ups and chassis for cleaning which suffers from poor design. the pick ups are the wrong way up which makes them hard to clean the part that contacts the wheels without dismantling the brake gear and the brake gear also makes wheel cleaning very difficult. A lovely model for the glass case but suffers from too many bits and pieces on the chassis which may cause difficulties for long term future use.
10 out of 10 for finish, construction and it really looks like the prototype in just about every way. 7 out of 10 for running and too much detail in places where it cannot be seen unless you are holding it upside down. The access to the dcc decoder is excellent. Looking forward to another Great Eastern loco. Class E4 or F5 would be lovely but don't be long as I was 80 this year!!
