84 - GER J67 - GER ウルトラマリン - DCCサウンド搭載

The Accurascale Buckjumper is a truly amazing little model, featuring detail which I absolutely didn’t expect, painted parts that look almost too good even when viewed closeup, and probably the most packed detail bag I’ve ever seen.

The destinationboards are a welcome inclusion, so are the screwlink couplings (much better than those included with the Panniers!) The etched plates are sadly supplied painted in two colours (why? Let the real brass shine through!) this is luckily an easy fix, but still a weird choice (which has carried over to the Panniers…)

There are no lamps/discs included, which is a bit of a letdown considering the Pannier came with 2, but the destination boards somewhat make up for that

The sound project is once again masterful and a joy to run the engine with, although I did notice that turning the volume down by a bit has drastically improved the quality of sound (I did the same with both of my Panniers, with the same result)

I don’t want this review to seem too negative, the engine is an absolute joy to look at, and it’s a lovely runner as well! No doubt that this was a good start for Tank engines from Accurascale, though having gotten two Panniers before getting this, it’s a bit sad to see that some of the issues with this have not been fixed with the 5700/8750 family

Arrived quickly , sounds great.

This arrived recently in the usual good packaging from Accurascale, and it looks very nice. I say looks very nice, as I should have been moving house about now and all my railway gear is packed away in storage. I can’t test it, or run it - all I can do is enjoy the way it looks. The house chain collapsed, and I now have to start buying and selling all over again. I have another of these models and that runs and behaves very nicely, so I am hoping this will be just as good when I eventually get to test it.Lovely looking model.

Stunning little model especially in its rich GER blue.

Superb model and brilliant service.

Superb loco, the design really captures the loco of this loco and the ultramarine blue livery is exquisite. What I love is the detachable roof so you can see the beautiful cab interior. The model runs superbly and the sound is crisp.

There's been debate over what "real" Great Eastern Blue actually looked like, and I don't think that debate is going to stop even now. This model is in a much brighter blue than the BR liveried Liverpool St Pilot, and the Preserved J69 from Locomotion. But my feeling from my own research, and discussion with Phoenix Precision is this is as close as is possible without someone finally finding something 100% conclusive. Which is fine, as it is a lovely colour. Not my era, although I have a Rule 1 scenario of GER Heritage trains - just need some prototypical coaches - hint hint! The J67/68/69 is an absolute minefield of different combinations from number of spokes on the wheels, reverser type, chimney type, safety valves, roof material and shape, brake types and so on - it was a brave decision to go for it by Accurascale but I am so glad they did. Roll on the next batch!
