This is a brilliant locomotive from Accurascale, with an excellent sound profile and impressive audio quality. The speakers are noticeably better than those fitted to the Buckjumper that Accurascale launched last year, making for a much more enjoyable operating experience.
Unfortunately, my model arrived with a minor manufacturing issue: the front buffer on the right-hand side had not been glued in place during manufacture and was simply clipped on as shown in the photo I uploaded. This was disappointing to discover, although it is a relatively easy exchange to do with Accurascale. in what is otherwise an excellent model.
However, I firmly believe this is an isolated, one-off manufacturing issue rather than a reflection of Accurascale’s overall quality or standards. No manufacturer can guarantee that every model will be completely free of faults, and these things can occasionally happen.
Accurascale has always been very good at dealing with faulty models and arranging prompt replacements, which gives me confidence that any issues will be resolved professionally.
Despite the loose buffer, I am still giving this locomotive five stars. The model itself is superb, the sound profile is excellent, and the speaker quality is particularly impressive. I do not believe this one-off manufacturing issue should detract from an otherwise outstanding locomotive or from the quality of Accurascale’s products.
A fantastic model that I would happily recommend to other enthusiasts!
