Adeiladwyd cyfanswm o ddeugain o’r cerbydau trawiadol hyn mewn tri swp ar gyfer yr Awdurdod Datgomisiynu Niwclear (NDA) gan WH Davis yn y DU rhwng 2014 a 2019, rhif 11 70 9229 001-040. Fe'u defnyddir i gludo gweddillion tanwydd o orsafoedd ynni niwclear a safleoedd sy'n cael eu datgomisiynu i'r cyfleuster yn Sellafield i'w hailbrosesu neu eu storio. Mae'r FNA-D yn parhau ag ystod boblogaidd ac uchel ei barch o gerbydau niwclear Accurascale sy'n cynnwys cludwr fflasg bogie KUA a fflat cynhwysydd dwy-echel PFA.

Mae'r wagenni, sydd hefyd yn cario'r cod UIC 'Uas', yn disodli'r fflyd eiconig o wagenni fflasg niwclear FNA a adeiladwyd gan BR a Procor a adeiladwyd rhwng 1976 a 1988, i gyd bellach wedi'u dileu. Mae'r diweddariadau mawr ar ochrau'r corff gyda fframio agored a chorsydd grym trac isel nodedig Barber BER22.5 'Easy Ride'. Yn fewnol mae strwythurau cynnal y llong wedi'u cynllunio i gario ystod ehangach o ddyluniadau fflasg. Mae Accurascale wedi atgynhyrchu'r nodweddion nodweddiadol hyn yn obsesiynol yn y raddfa lai gyda dyluniad marw-cast a phlastig cyfansawdd sy'n cynnwys manylion tan-ffrâm llawn ac offer brêc.

Er bod nifer y gorsafoedd ynni niwclear gweithredol wedi crebachu’n aruthrol ers troad y mileniwm, mae wagenni FNA-D i’w gweld o hyd dros rannau helaeth o’r DU, fel arfer rhwng un a phump o wagenni y tu ôl i bâr o locomotifau Direct Rail Services (DRS). Y safleoedd gweithredol hyn yw Hartlepool, Heysham 1 a 2, Torness a Sizewell B.

Fodd bynnag, mae tri lleoliad caeedig yn mynd trwy’r broses dad-danwydd ac yn cludo gwiail tanwydd arbelydredig i Sellafield: Dungeness B, Hinkley Point B a Hunterston B.      Common Features:

    • Highly-detailed OO gauge model, 1:76.2 scale on 16.5mm track
    • Minimum Radius 438mm (2nd Radius)
    • Ten individually numbered wagons packaged in two-car sets
    • Bogies include separate brakeshoes in line with wheels and brake adjuster plus rotating axleboxes
    • RP25-110 profile OO gauge wheels with space to fit EM (18.2mm) or P4 (18.83mm) wheels
    • Sprung buffers and dummy screw couplings are included
    • Super fine separate plastic, metal wire and etched metal detail parts, including air pipes, brake handwheel, hood opening equipment, brake equipment, grabs, warning label holders
    • Kinetic NEM coupler mounts at correct height with mini-tension-lock couplers
    • Working tail light on one vehicle in each pack. This will be powered by a pair of CR927 batteries and controlled by magnet switch

    The Tail Lamp model has a battery compartment under the flask hood and requires 2x CR927 Batteries to operate. Batteries Not Included.

    These are great wagons.
    However, I have one reservation and that is using a battery to power the taillight. I'm having difficulty sourcing the correct size battery and they are tricky to install. Why not use pickups and source power from the track?

    Amazing Nuclear Flask Wagons!

    They not only look the part they also run well and even have sprung buffers and one wagon has an illuminated flashing tail lamp. They handle radius 2 reverse curves with aplomb. They work well. A couple of Cons. Don't use the supplied couplings they are brittle and break. One of them arrived with its tines snapped off. Another snapped whilst trying to fit it. They are made from a painted over inferior plastic, real rubbish. I had to use Bachmann couplings instead. And the CR927 batteries used to operate the tail lamps had to be ordered in from Amazon, i could not source them locally here in Canada. The couplings have cost a star!
