St Paddy 55 001

Quite possibly the most detailed ready to run locomotive I have ever purchased. Some of the detailing had fallen off in transit but was easily located in the box and put back on the loco in a few minutes. It is a hefty model weighing in at 815grams (Bachmann Deltic by comparison weighs only 512grams) which ensures not only excellent traction but also helps to keep it on any slightly uneven track. A nice touch is the loco being geared to run excellently at a very slow creep as well as a scale 500mph! (not recommended!). Finally the excellent design of removable magnetic roof cover to access the DCC interface makes the whole thing a joy to convert to DCC. I didn't purchase the sound version but may convert this one to DCC sound in the future.
I'm more of a Western Region/Southern region fan but have always had a soft spot for the Deltics having ridden behind them many times in my younger days. This one has pride of place on my garden Railway.
How about a nice class 50 next? :-)

Superb Locomotive

The shape and presence of the of the locomotive is excellent, and captures the look of the Deltic perfectly. The level of detail is superb, and the BR blue livery application spot on. The locomotive runs very smoothly, and with sound active the sound of the Napier engines is captivating, and nicely loud - An excellent model

Model of the decade?

A brilliant model, it captures perfectly in model form the real thing that I used to hear from my bedroom hauling the 12.15 am down train out of Top Bank back in the ‘70s . Runs smoothly straight from the box. Congratulations Accurascale you are clearly setting a new standard for UK outline models in OO.

Simply brilliant

I dithered about buying one and pre-ordered quite late. I shouldn't have worried. It's superb in every possible way - The detail is mindblowing, it runs incredibly smoothly and silently (if the sound is off!) and it's soooo heavy!
Now... a class 40 to that standard please!

Amazing model, amazing value

It took a while for Accurascale's first diesel loco to get here, but damn it was worth the wait. This model has set a new standard in RTR detail that I suspect other manufacturers will struggle to match. Add in the sound and lighting options, along with built in stay alive and the whole package is pure quality. This quality is all the more remarkable considering the great price. Bring on the 37s!

St Paddy

Not much more to add that has not already been written from fellow modellers, a very good price by today's standard considering the level of detail that is packed into this model with a operating performance to compliment. A big gamble to take modelling the greatest diesel loco to hit the UK rails & one that has been produced by most UK railway manufactuer's already, but what a job you have done.

Napier heaven

Have purchased St Paddy along with four other Accurascale Deltics. Probably the best OO gauge models i have in my collection (until their 37s come along). Have had no problems with parts falling off. They all run like silk, the detailing is nothing short of amazing and the Napier roar transports me back to being a 10 year old on Kings Cross station with the sound fitted models i have. Well done Accurascale! Fantastic achievement for a 'first' locomotive to produce. Look forward to the 2nd production run and all your other fine models I've ordered...

St paddy!

Well what can I say, I have four of these wonderful locomotives 55001, 55002 locomotion special, 55005 and 55022 royal Scot’s grey and love them all. Accurascale you really have set the new level of modelling. Can’t wait for my 37402 in large logo and the mk2b’s I have pre-ordered 6! Many thanks and anyone who can get a Deltic you won’t be disappointed 😊
