Seen as very much the ‘missing link’ in the ‘Powering Britain’ range, the 16 ton mineral wagon is an essential addition to the Accurascale range to tell the story of coal traffic on the railways throughout the 20th century. The archetypal BR 16 ton all-steel non-hoppered mineral wagon proliferated across the United Kingdom’s railway network during the 1950s and 1960s and there was probably not a siding, freight yard or industrial railway system in the country that did not house at least an example or three of these vitally important, yet mundane railway vehicles.

16T Mineral Wagons

Excellent models although the Grey appears rather light need some wagon loads to finish them off

Wonderful Wagons

Very pleased with my set of three BR 16T Mineral 1/109 wagons. Impressive detail and very good runners. I've added a 10g weight to each to achieve my standard wagon weight of approx 50g each. I appreciate the provision of both standard and instanter sets of three links. They are spot on - look good and actually work. Even with the metal chassis, I found it very easy to fit Sprat & Winkle couplings at one end of one wagon; the easy removal of the body helped. Just running them in pristine condition for few weeks, then it will be weathering and my 1950s era coal train will be totally authentic. Thanks for a great product.

Absolutely wonderful wagons. Bought 4 packs and really pleased with them all. At £25 each excluding multi pack discount the amount of detail is remarkable for the price. These sit right at home on an steam shed layout. Bring on the Bauxite versions next
