55005 The Prince of Wales' Own Regiment of Yorkshire

A superb model of some superb locomotives.

After having my 55005 for a little while I have to say that I am still blown away by it. This is also true every time I take it to my model railway club, my friends there are equally in awe of it.
Being a sound fitted example, I'm still getting used to the many, many functions. The platform announcements especially are extremely well done. Equally however I love the fact it still sounds like a Deltic when moving. Other sound projects being let down by the speakers forced upon us by the lack of space in older models.
Others have mentioned the shedding of detail parts, especially the bogie chains. I have to say I've had no such issues. There were no parts loose in the box upon its arrival and it's been in and out of the box many times since. Admittedly I am most careful with it but I feel anyone would be given the quality and accuracy of the model.
Most truly, this is a scale model and not a 'toy' for a child's train set. Very well done to Accurascale and I'm very much looking forward to the Class 37 and Class 31s that I have on order with you.

The loco arrived with one small piece that had been detected an easy fix, this loco is one four I have purchased all have had the same piece that had detected, but the running and sound of the locos makes them a most buy.

Arrived well packaged and delivered in a timely fashion. Model is great and live the detail and runs smoothly. Overall very happy.

First thing I did here was go and look at who awarded less than 5 stars and why.

Maybe one word to add to existing reviews. Finesse. A lot of effort, skill and craftsmanship have gone into the design, fabrication and supply of these models and it shows. The quality and value for money of this and other Class 55 models in this batch is top notch.
Even the literature in the box has been given a great deal of thought.
A brave step to offer such a detailed model, with so much attention to detail variations in the very first batch of a first UK r-t-r locomotive. Fantastic achievement. How anyone can deduct 20% from a product rating for a broken chain is beyond me....

accurascale put a hugh amount of research and dedication into this model. The model is very fairly priced for both DCC and DC. I got very good customer care in shipping as i'm outside U.K. This model shows how more established OO guage manufacturers need to improve their own products, cause accurascale are setting the benchmark. Its a very exciting time for OO scale.
