Gyda chyflwyniad Unedau Lluosog Diesel yn cyflymu yn ystod y 1960au, mae llawer o'r Mk1 non-roedd stoc y gangway yn cael ei ddileu yn raddol o draffig, ond ar gyfer rhai o'r cerbydau canfuwyd defnyddiau newydd, yn enwedig yn llif cludo nwyddau ac, yn ddiweddarach, fel cerbydau Adrannol.

Gyda chyflwyniad trenau Freightliner, British Rail ac Undeb y Gyrwyr Trenau, ASLEF (
Yr Cysylltiedig Cymdeithas Peirianwyr Locomotif a Dynion Tân), yn methu dod i gytundeb ynghylch lle Gwarchodlu gael eu cartrefu yn y tbwrw glaw. I ddechrau, cafodd cynwysyddion eu trosi i arddull 'Caboose' llety ond gyda'r reid a'r diogelwch dan fygythiad difrifol, penderfynwyd trosi nifer o Mk1 segur Cerbydau Bracio i Faniau Gwarchodlu Cludo Nwyddau fel mesur dros dro tan fwy gellid dod o hyd i ateb parhaol.
Troswyd y mwyafrif o'r cerbydau hyn o Mk1 non-gangway Eiliadau Brake, gyda 43 cyn-Hyfforddwyr y Canolbarth, y Dwyrain a'r Alban yn cael eu trosi yn Derby a Swindon yn gweithio rhwng June 1966 a Hydref 1967, yn dechrau gwasanaeth ar lif Freightliner mewn lifrai llwyd plaen.


Unwaith yr oedd BR ac ASLEF wedi dod i gytundeb i'r Gwarchodlu reidio yng nghaban cefn yr halio 
locomotifau, roedd y faniau Brake unwaith eto yn weddill i anghenion, gyda dim ond saith cerbyd sydd pwyso i wasanaeth fel faniau Adrannol: DB 963904, 963906, 963925 a 963947 fel Rhedwyr Craen a ADB 963943, 963952 a 963953 fel Faniau Offer BTU. 
Dechreuodd ADB 963952 fel Sc43326, un o'r Brake Thirds a adeiladwyd yn Efrog ym 1955 a adeiladwyd i Lot 30057 ac unwaith Wedi ymddeol o Ranbarth yr Alban, cafodd ei drawsnewid yn Fan Brake Freightliner yn Swindon ym mis Medi 1967. Cafodd ei drawsnewid yn Fan Offer BTU yn Doncaster ym 1980 ac arhosodd y cerbyd mewn gwasanaeth tan Mehefin 1988, pan oedd argae tânroedd oedran yn golygu nad oedd modd defnyddio'r goets fawr ac fe'i torrwyd i fyny yn y pen draw yn Temple Mill Iard ym mis Mehefin 1992.

Looks great on the layout.

When first announced, the Mk1 suburban's were not on my radar. However, the announcement of this BR departmental yellow version really caught my eye. Whatsmore, the weathered finished applied to it is fantastic and beats anything I could carry out on the model. Finally, mention should be made to the interior detail which can be appreciated even more thanks to the innovative roof design which sees it held in place using magnets for easy access. A great addition to the fleet.

This is certainly by far the best MK1 coach I own the detail is so exquisite and I love the magnetic lighting system that accurascale produce just by waving a magnetic wand over the roof to turn the lights on and off top marks to accurascale well done you did it yet again

Perfect, I really like the way the roof lifts off for ease of adding passengers, the built in lighting is fantastic with the stay alive capacitor. Well done accurascale.

Something a little different, but still a decent piece of kit

I nearly didn't get one of these, but am glad I did. It's very much a "Rule 1" item for me. As always a very well designed and built item. One tiny issue is 3 of the magnets that hold the roof to the body came away with the roof. Nothing a dot of superglue couldn't fix, but something to look out for.
